Today we all presented our final designs and ideas for 3D Exhibition. We all had input and ideas to help each other with any hiccups along the way.

Rachel - Rachel still isn't set on her 3D design however it will most likely be her lamp design involving a series of globes ganged from a custom lamp frame. She has good design but finds it hard to commit to one of her ideas.
Josie - Has a few more materials this week to add to her headboard for an office reception. She is going to use laser cut technology for her lettering and transparent dividers for her circles. She has discovered the laser cutting man will be back on the 17th of October so she is stressing a little but should be ok.
Billie - Is using the laser cutting man that Josie is using so she doesnt want to rush too much towrds the end. Billie wants to make her 3D laser cutting tree out of metal and it will sit just over a metre high. She was welcoming ideas on how it will be exhibited succesfully for maximum visual effect.

Commentary
I chose this Video so I can gain inspiration on how 3d objects suit their environment. The way they are presented and where they are situated can have a large impact on the interpretation of the piece. It is also familiar to me as I have seen this exhibition in the flesh two years in a row. I was blown away by the quality of workmanship. The only drawback on this video is that you can't see how the general public are walking around each sculpture and they way they interact with the space around each piece.
Reflection
I need to visit the Austec Store and build my frame this week so I can finalise my custom lid. I can then go to Bunnings and either buy synthetic turf for my exhibition flooring or to use on the top of the lid as a surface that ties in well with irrigation. We as a group are roughly at the same page as each other on our 2D and 3D designs. The thing with 3D is that it takes a lot longer to execute. This is why this week i need to assemble. I dont want to be burning the midnight oil on the night before exhibition.
