WEEK 12 - 2D Design

Today we received a box of flyers to count into different bundle quantities for distribution.
My 2D Design still needs the right grass graphic for the logo. I played around with some pics off the web and the custom brushes in phoshop but they become too complex. I need to make a simple custom grass design that will be easy to print and easy on the eye.

GROUP EXERCISE – Presenting Your Portfolio

PART 1 – 20 mins

Each student presents their exhibition portfolio to the class

PART 2 - 10 mins Blog

Each student post feedback on all other students in your blog

Minimum of 50 words blogging on each student

Billie - Is still deciding how to mount her Tree Design and maybe make a shade effect with the cut-out shapes. She isn't sure what to mount on her tree eg her own graphic shapes, photos, designs etc. 

Josie - Has kept with the same "Concept Est Grande" logo which is great to see she has stuck with it and it is slowly evolving into something really good. I think its even better with the new colour schemes she has made the bold text really stand out.

Rachel - Her 2D CHicken designs are excellent. She just needs to commit to a way to use them in her exhibition. She can't decide between a t-shirt design, linen print or a frame. Once she commits to one method she should be fine because her chicken design speaks for itself.

Sunita - Her 2D prints just came out of our big banner printer just a few dyas ago. They came out really good. I particularly like the mosaic tile like effect on her Timor 2D statue. She also got Damien Cooper our Apple IT guru to print out a large version of her favourite image of the Hut. This was blown up 300% and the noise wasn't too bad. Good work.

2D Fashion Exhibition UWE 2nd Years 2010

Commentary

I chose this clip to get ideas for the execution of our 2D Design Exhibition. The video shows how they display all their fashion art and photography as well as their theem "Old Diner". You can really get inspiration from seeing another 2D exhibit. This is for second year students so the quality is quite good. We are only first year so we can only do our best in our first attempts.

Reflection

Our class are still throwing around ideas with only a couple of weeks to go. We all need to pull our heads in and commit to one design. I am in the same boat and don't need any idea distraction or I may try to explore other ideas. This week is definitely the week to commit.
